New Book and Policy Report
Shoulder to Shoulder: Forging a Strategic U.S.-EU Partnership
The U.S.-EU relationship is important but not strategic. In this new book, leading U.S. and European experts call for a more effective U.S.-EU partnership in areas ranging from resilience and conflict management to energy sustainability, open markets and a broad Atlantic Basin Initiative. Knocking Down Transatlantic Economic Barriers
CTR hosted the release of a major two-year study of the economic potential that could be gained from removing or aligning U.S.-EU non-tariff barriers to trade and investment. The study offers an economic analysis of 23 different sectors of the transatlantic economy, from travel and financial services to aerospace, electronics, autos and chemicals, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and biotechnology. CTR Director Dan Hamilton served as the U.S. member of the Steering Committee for this study. Call for Applications: CTR Visiting Fellowships on Central Europe
Beginning in 2010, two outstanding scholars will be selected in an open, competitive process to conduct research on important issues related to Central Europe at CTR. The Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation Fellows will be appointed for a nine- month period from October to June each academic year.
