Ms. Katrien Maes is the Program Coordinator at the Center for Transatlantic Relations. She joined the Center in January 2002. Prior to this position, she worked at Discovery Networks International (Discovery Channel) in the Program Sales department with Europe as her territory as well as working with the Discovery Channel Canadian Joint Venture. She has also worked in their Programming department. From 1997-1999, she taught high school students with the CLOSE UP Foundation based in Washington, DC. The program teaches high school students from around the country to learn about political science and enables the students to experience Washington, DC in action. She studied law in Belgium at the University of Ghent and the Catholic University of Leuven in the early 1990s. She has a BA from James Madison College at Michigan State University where she majored in International Relations with a specialization in Latin America and the Caribbean. She is currently taking classes at Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies. She holds a Belgian nationality. |
