lmarque3@jhu.edu Dr. Luis B. Marques is the Calouste Gulbenkian Fellow at the Center for Transatlantic Relations. He is also Assistant Professor of Economics at SAIS. His interests include International Finance and Open Economy Macroeconomics, with an emphasis on applied research on exchange rates. Topics studied this far include exchange rate forecasting and market microstructure, and welfare implications of exchange rate changes. His current research includes quantifying the cost to consumers of prospective EMU countries of adopting the euro at a depreciated conversion rate. Prior to SAIS, Dr. Marques was a Teaching Assistant at the University of Rochester, Department of Economics and W. E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration. He has also served as a Junior Lecturer at Faculdade de Economia do Porto, University of Porto, Oporto, Portugal. He has previously worked in Corporate Banking, Banco BPI, Oporto, Portugal.
