Rana.Islam@web.de Rana Deep Islam is a former intern at the Center for Transatlantic Relations at the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies. His work included research on security implications of a Turkish EU accession. He is furthermore dealing with an outlook on transatlantic relations under a possible democratic US presidency. Rana Islam studied History, Politics and Sociology in Bonn, Strasbourg and Berlin. He furthermore obtained a master’s degree from the College of Europe in Bruges and Warsaw in the field of “EU International Relations and Diplomacy.” Rana Islam is also a recent scholar of the Friedrich-Ebert-Foundation. Several internships and work experience gave him a direct insight into international relations and foreign policy. Among others he previously worked for the Center for European Integration Research in Bonn, and the International Institute for Democracy in Strasbourg. He also interned at the Office of the Prime Minister of North Rhine Westphalia and at the headquarters of the German social democratic party. In 2005 Rana Islam participated in the Model UN Simulation in New York.
