chenyugang@hotmail.com Dr. Yugang Chen is an Associate Professor at the School of International Relations and Public Affairs (SIRPA), Fudan University, Shanghai, China, and a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the Center for Transatlantic Relations from 2007 to 2008. His research areas include international relations theory, European integration, EU-China relations, Chinese foreign policy and strategy, cooperation in Eastern Asia, and international political economy. Currently he is working on a project on transatlantic relations and China during his visit in Washington D.C. As a Visiting Scholar, Dr. Chen has been abroad many times. He carried out a research project on the EU’s common foreign and security policy (CFSP) at the University of Limerick, Ireland from 1999-2000 with the support of the EU-China Higher Education Cooperation Program. Afterwards he visited the Center for International Studies (CERI), Science-Po in Paris; the Department of Political Science, Lund University, Sweden; the Institute for East Asian Studies, Duisburg-Essen University, Germany. He has also attended many domestic and international academic conferences and given key-note speeches and presentations. Dr. Chen teaches many courses for undergraduate and graduate students. The main courses are Introduction of International Relations at the undergraduate level and European Politics and Foreign Policy at the graduate level. Other courses include Comparative Studies of International Regions, International Political Economy, Western Economics, History of International Relations from 1500-present. Dr. Chen is a member of the Council of Shanghai Association of International Relations, and a member of key Chinese associations in international studies. He is a member of the editorial board of International Survey, a major journal in international studies in China. He published a book National vs. Supranational----A Comparative Theoretical Exploration of European Integration (Shanghai People’s Publishing House, 2001), and co-authored the books The Global Paradigm of the 21th Century (Fudan University Press, 2005); The Study Report about the Five World Powers’ Strategies (Zhong Yang Bian Yi Press, 1998), One Country, Two Systems (Shanghai People’s Publishing House, 1998), and edited the books Politics and Human Being (Fudan University Press, 2005), Beyond Westphalia? (Shi Shi Press, 2004). He just translated Oran R. Young’s book Governance in World Affairs (Cornell University Press, 1999) into Chinese and published it in September 2007. He has also published numerous articles in academic journals and reviews in newspapers. |
